The Story
1950s sterling silver Zuni concho belt featuring finely executed Rainbow Man inlay design using mother of pearl, natural American turquoise, Mediterranean coral, and black jet. Each concho is hand-forged and hand-stamped with radiating and scalloped details, framing the inlaid figure with strong visual contrast. The matching buckle continues the motif in a larger, more elaborate ketoh-style form. The conchos are mounted on a leather belt with hand-formed copper loops, showing age consistent with the piece. Early Zuni inlay work with a consistent design across all elements, reflecting talented mid-century craftsmanship and traditional stonework techniques. Attributed to Zuni Silversmith, Lambert Homer Jr. (1917 - 1972).
Buckle Dimensions: 3.5β Width, 2.5β Height
Concho Dimensions: 2.625β Width, 1.5β Height
Maximum Belt Length: 37β (Holes Punched at 29", 30β, 31β, 36β, and 37β)
