Margaret Tafoya (1904β2001) was a renowned Santa Clara Pueblo potter known for her large, hand-coiled blackware and redware vessels with finely polished surfaces and carved traditional designs. A matriarch of the Tafoya pottery family, she played a major role in elevating Pueblo pottery to fine art and received the National Heritage Fellowship in 1984.
