The Story

This sterling silver bracelet made by celebrated Hopi silversmith Beauford Dawahoya in 1996 features a continuous ceremonial procession of Flute Players, symbols of Hopi’s Flute Clan and spiritual tradition, marching toward an altar bowl flanked by Pahos (prayer feathers) and a corn stalk. The Flute Ceremony is one of Hopi’s most sacred traditions, invoking rainfall and agricultural abundance. Corn represents provision and sustenance, while the Pahos carry the prayers of the people upward with each day’s passing sun.

Dawahoya’s signature precision and restraint are evident in this rhythmic, deeply symbolic overlay composition, honoring the sacred connection between music, prayer, and sustenance.

Part of the historic Kopavi Collection, this bracelet has never been previously owned.
